Cat Got Your Ear? Based in Brighton, Amongst the Pigeons is a place inhabited by soaring loops and the beating of electronic wings. Discovered in early 2005 via the talk-speak places where internet people huddle, ATP grew forth. Radio One’s Rob Da Bank was quick to champion tracks from seminal EP release, ‘wings wings: beat’, which also slunk their way onto XFM. Contrary to the posters that appeared on Brighton streets following this release, CAT was not lost - just hiding, honing, purrfecting...... European DJ slots and remixes for upwardly mobile Brighton musical outfits - Miss Pain, Largo, The Collector, Wobbly Squadron, provided whisker fuelled entertainment, all the while extensive beat-mongering was taking place in aid of ATP’s first full length LP. ‘Music to brush your teeth to’ was released in Aug 2009 and featured 16 tracks of blips, beats, samples and some rather special guests, such as Frank Turner & Beans on Toast. MTBYTT samplers were played out to satisfaction on XFM, 6 Music and BBC Radio One. Positive reviews followed and new fans were made. Not one to lay low ATP DJed across Europe, kicked out remixes for artists such as Polly Scattergood and began work on new tracks. These tracks became the July 2010 release ‘Repeat to fade EP’ which further increased ATPs growing popularity and got amazing reviews. The next step in the world of ATP is taking these tracks, arranging them into a live show and playing as many gigs, festivals and shows as possible. The first of these ATP:LIVE shows is scheduled for Autumn 2010 in Cat’s home town of Brighton. 2011 will see ATP:LIVE touring across UK, a new release, more remixes, more DJ Sets and generally more of Amongst The Pigeons everywhere!
